I've been replaying some #RiskOfRain (the original, 2013 #videogame). I'm on #Linux, and the last version released for this platform is known to have some glaring bugs (lockups and crashes) that do not affect other platforms. The developers have released two new games since, RoR2 and a remaster of the classic (Risk Of Rain Returns). Neither of these is available for Linux. TBH, I'm moderately pissed that the original one (which used to be fully playable to completion) hasn't been fixed.

After playing "Risk of Rain Returns", I have to say that I really prefer the mobility in 3D of "Risk of Rain 2". Shooting with anything than the huntress is really annoying. #riskofrain #riskofrain2 #riskofrainreturns
I remember fondly playing Hopoo Game's Risk of Rain with my friends when it first came out, and I'm happy to say that their remake Risk of Rain : Returns keeps the core gameplay loop intact but makes everything a bit better : better art and animations, better UI (especially to setup or join an online game), better ingame index with precise items descriptions, pertinent game infos added to the ingame chat, etc.
My only grief is that, while they did try to improve it a bit, dying in a coop game is still very punitive: while your teammates finish cleaning the level you get late on your items pickups, which makes the game harder in the following levels, and it's hard to catch up and get back in the run.
