Do any users of #GIMP on #Linux know how to install the in-development version of the Resynthesizer plugin, called the "resynthesizer3 branch"?

Despite being a Linux user, I've maybe "cloned, built and installed" two things since 2019...so I need instructions-for-dummies.

I'm just missing a couple of the healing functions from Resynthesizer as it was far better at it than I am doing it manually.

Thanks.

Neva (Mulit, XPd on PC via Steam)
Take a grim journey with Alba and her wolf companion Neva through a dying world.

So right off the bat, this is a game that gives you a Superman kick in your feels. The opening cinematic sees Alba overcome by the dark denizens of the world only to be saved by her wolf companion who sacrifices herself, leaving Alba to raise the wolf's cub to take its rightful place as her new companion.

Thus you start this side scrolling platformer with a small and at times timid wolf cub, heading into the world attempting to find and vanquish the darkness responsible for the death that is all around Alba. As you progress through the game the cub will grow up and become more powerful and helpful companion.

The mechanics of this game are quite tight and responsive. None of that floaty jump stuff here. The skill sets for Alba and Neva grow rapidly as this game is fairly short (I have 5 hours played to complete it) but each addition felt pretty natural and was quick to be useful. There are a few tough spots as enemies don't telegraph their move sets so expect a few deaths as you figure out patterns and learn when best to attack.

I dig the art style of this game. It's very reminiscent of some older animated features, most notably Fantastic Planet and Yellow Submarine, at least IMO. For all that this game tells a dark story, there is beauty in this world. The music is very appropriate, fitting the world quite well. I also like how all the narrative is told visually. The only text you'll see are gameplay prompts, and even those are pretty sparse.

Overall, I would highly recommend this game to anyone that likes shorter experiences, platformers, or getting a gut punch in the feels. I very much enjoyed my time with it, and won't be forgetting it any time soon.

interviews yesterday, and an odd maybe spurious observation: over the years with a variety of newish Mac or Win, I've often had trouble with video call stability in my office upstairs in the garage. The wireless router is inside the house, so through two exterior walls and say 10m of air. Unusual to go an hour without at least a little freezing, Teams worse than Meet much worse than Zoom. Yesterday, on a 12 yo #arch #linux MacBook Pro, Meet on Chromium, 3 solid hours, not a hiccup.

Working late last night, spinning up a Rocky Linux dev server, I found myself thinking about the people who have truly shaped the world of technology.

Elon Musk, for all his bombastic self-promotion, has mostly leveraged his wealth to buy into companies, using other people’s money, selling grand visions, and raking in profits. He’s undeniably a skilled businessman, but will his legacy be anything more than hype, wealth accumulation, and half-finished promises?

Then there’s Linus Torvalds—a man who, without fanfare or fortune-seeking, quietly transformed computing forever. He didn’t sell a dream; he built something real. Linux powers everything from supercomputers to smartphones, from stock exchanges to space stations. He gave it away, nurtured a community, and in doing so, shaped the backbone of modern technology.

I know which legacy I respect more.
