"Recycle or landfill your PC" because it can’t run #Windows11?
Some are giving this advice. But your device still works. Why trash it?
Replace #Windows, not your #hardware. Try #openSUSE #Linux
#UpgradetoFreedom #Windows10 https://news.opensuse.org/2025/04/14/replace-windows-not-your-device/
Okay #openSUSE, how about if you release a new Kernel you make sure you update all separate kernel modules so that I don't have to fiddle with udev rules and modprobe for an hour just to find out everything is working as intended because you simply never shipped the module that I thought won't load!
A sneak peak at Agama 13, the next release of the upcoming installer for openSUSE.

#pomoc
I used to have a boxed copy of #opensuse I bought from Best Buy in order to learn Linux. Was a lot of fun, didn't understand what a root account was, but quickly learned lol.
Can anyone tell me when the next #Linux release candidate gets build? Is there some regular time for this?
I currently run a modified version 6.14.2, however 6.15-rc2 will also contain more necessary bugfixes for #AMD Strix-series devices to run without serious crashes. And I'd like to avoid having to invest time into learning how to patch and build the kernel on #OpenSuse (only did it on Arch once, years ago).
Of course alternatively I could use linux-next, although I'm not sure about that.^^
I rarely use my personal laptop at my desk, I use it on my lap in front of the TV unless I have a specific need for external displays. Last night, I went to use it at my desk.
Hardware: The same USB-C dongle, two ultrawide and single FHD monitors as ever.
Software: Fully updated @opensuse #Tumbleweed with #NVIDIA drivers.
This all "just worked" last time I used it. Now, I can only use enable one ultrawide at a time.
I shall dig into logs later.
Yeah #waybar has menus

Adding a "system menu" for my #opensuse #niri setup :)

#openSUSE Leap 16 is shaping up! While some packages are still in the works, the foundation is solid; the vision is clear! A traditional #Linux system that stays true to its users. Stability lovers, rejoice!

#openSUSE isn't just for #servers & #devs; it's for #gamers too! Install. #Play. Repeat. #openSUSE makes gaming easy. #GameOnLinux #UpgradetoFreedom https://get.opensuse.org/
Encountered some serious instability on modern #AMD (Strix) devices using #Linux due to the GPU driver crashes.
Potential fixes for these are coming in Kernel 6.15-rc2. Luckily #OpenSuse builds them for #Tumbleweed seemingly automatically.

These things are reasons I'd never, EVER recommend buying a new Windows' off-the-shelf device and try to put Linux on it to someone who isn't at least an enthusiast. The additional ~200€ Linux device vendors take are worth it!
#zypper leveled up. Now with parallel #downloads & a reworked media backend, you can cut fetch times in half!
