Ok. Windows 11 has cooked itself after an update and I refuse to reinstall everything AGAIN.
What KDE distros do people recommend for someone new to Linux, has older hardware but likes to game (not online/competitively, most stuff older games) and wants things to be set up/included by default as much as possible.
Thought that Nobara would be perfect but it won’t boot off ventoy nor direct off a usb. (Safe boot disabled and multiple attempts)
Ryzen 7 3700x & GTX 1070.

Sigh I need to rewrite my LAS keynote to include the amazing new energy that the cloud native community has injected into the linux desktop this week.

I look forward to seeing my #kde and #gnome peeps at LAS this month to talk about it.

As of @kde Plasma 6.3.4, Thai language can now be chosen in the Region & Language settings.

I thought this was a simple ask. I just wanted a file manager app on #macOS that had an integrated terminal that synced with the folder view above, just like Dolphin in #KDE Plasma.

After I tried the following suggestions, I've given up.

* Commander One
* Spacedrive
* Forklift (v3 and v4)
* Nimble Commander
* muCommander

None of them offer this simple yet super useful feature.

#Marta is the closest I've found, but its file-based configuration is quite limited. It doesn't even have an icon view.

I'm starting to regret my decision to accept my manager's request to switch from Linux to macOS for my work.

it was my birthday yesterday, and i already used up my once-yearly super powerful magic birthday wish. now that it's no longer my birthday, i can make regular, non-magical wishes, which are unfortunately far less likely to come true, but are not as rare.

my wish is that #KDE's #dolphin file manager handles "open XYZ folder in your file browser" requests by opening a new tab in the current window rather than opening a new window.

if anyone knows of a #kwin rule or something to do this automatically... i will send you a FREE copy of a king crimson meme i made several months ago

Forgot to write about my KDE Neon experience during my holiday, since I migrated Mastodon instances.

It went without any problems, everything was super smooth.

Could use my mesh VPN, Tor Browser works, regular browsers (LibreWolf and Brave) also work, I could write code, use the terminal, and Remote into my desktop at home and my work computer.

I didn't expect any problems anyway, but still documenting it here because KDE Neon isn't a "normal" distro and instability is expected.
