A few photos from our outing to a national park today. Around -17 Celsius with windchill, so we were well-dressed, but the wind was honestly not bad at all despite our proximity to the fleuve, the bare trees did a good job mitigating it.
As it's a national park, it wasn't even a question of keeping Pippin on leash, but we bent the rules a little and put him on a 4,5 metre line, so that he could still stretch his legs, and we worked on his long-line leash etiquette, his focus, and some basic on-leash recall.
When Pippin's out in nature, his hunting instincts can take over and his hyperfocus on sniffing and searching for bird game can be very tough to break, to the point he gets very frustrated. Today, Pip made amazing strides — still very focused on sniffing and digging, but he could take food from Leif and I, and mostly was able to focus on us when we really needed him too. Very proud of our little hunter.
Campsite for day one. The Bienvenue Cyclistes certification is magical. Merci, #VéloQuebec. Merci, #SEPAQ. #BikePacking #BikeTooter #Quebec
