Antony Green has delivered the killing blow to the hopes of any RWNJs who thought they had a chance of winning. Roger Cook has been voted-in to give Labour another term to govern Western Australia.

Western Australia continues to be a wasteland for the LNP. I wish I could say it's because the ALP are brilliant strategists or have amazing policies, but it's starting to seem the ALP has been coasting for years, and the LNP have been a hot mess for years.

A stand-out example of this is Liberal candidate, Basil Zempilas, who said to the ABC that he's the victim of a massive smear campaign. In reality, the only person smearing Basil Zempilas is Basil Zempilas — he defames himself every time he opens his mouth.

It's too early to say with any precision, but I would like to think that when the final votes are counted, the LNP have a similarly dismal presence in Parliament as last term, when Labor won 53 out of 59 of the seats.

In WA tonight. I have voted after reviewing all how to vote sheets from all candidates. I’m in #fremantle and there is many parties.

Firstly I would like to say is the #liberals #christianparty and #wewantgunstokillourpartnersparty are in bed together. Each proudly giving each other votes. No #nationalparty in Fremantle as there is no way in hell they would get 10 votes.

I chose my voting following my decision that no major party is going to make money out of my vote. My vote will trickle towards #labor in both lower and upper house but it will go on a journey to get there.

Watching #abc and #antonygreen. Time to start.

#AntonyGreen has made election results intelligible to ordinary folx like me, in real time, in every election since 1991. Watching him on election night is always a delight, even on those awful times when the results bring me to tears. His legacy is creating & embedding analytical systems that will continue to inform us, & be built on, for years to come. Thank you Dr Green #AusPol

ABC News · Legendary ABC chief election analyst Antony Green to step downBy Leigh Sales

Live updated results from the Australian Capital Territory, Epping, Hornsby and Pittwater.

7.49pm. My system is now calling Pittwater for Jacqui Scruby (and I believe that’s despite a glitch in the projection that’s favouring the Liberals by a handful of votes).

7.48pm. A second independent looks like being elected in Murrumbidgee — Fiona Carrick, at the expense of Emma Davidson of the Greens, with Labor (incumbents Chris Steel and Marisa Paterson) and Liberal (incumbents Jeremy Hanson and Ed Cocks) remaining on two each.
