Today marks the end of #NationalMothWeek, and I will post several more banger #Moths before returning to my regular variety of #macro content. This is the Ornate Bella Moth, #Utetheisa ornatrix, a colorful moth that I often see visiting Autumn wildflowers.

OMG just saw a few of these in the lower elevations of Bhutan and wondered what they were. Marvellous.
@ewen This particular species was seen in South Georgia, but it is fascinating how similar other members of the genus appear, the one that shows as having a range in Bhutan, U. Pulchelliodes looks very similar. HTTPS://inaturalist.org/taxa/125231-Utetheisa-pulchelloides

@Permacultureandpolitics I see these little lovelies most during the Autumn wildflower season here in South Georgia, usually mid October to mid November, often on Goldenrod, though their host plant, crotalaria, the rattleboxes are also inbloom during this time
