Bright full moon
shed its red hue —
"Aw... I slept through it."

On the night the full moon first rises, I like to go out to the field at the edge of the neighborhood with my dogs to sit and watch the moon rise.

It changes position and trajectory each month, not aligning with the east-west dirt road we sit on except for twice a year.

The sun is always setting in the west at the time the full moon rises. So I'll have in front of me a big ole full moon and behind me, sometimes, a spectacular sunset.

I have found if I sit very, very still and position myself so that some object on the close horizon is in the path of the moonrise (wires on electric poles are the best) I can almost feel our planet turning.
