The Brain DJ is buried under a head cold.

I've just started reading "Willin': The Story of Little Feat" by Ben Fong-Torres (Da Capo Press, 2013), and learned that Taj Mahal covered a Little Feat song.

Gotta check that out!

Taj Mahal, "Feets Don't Fail Me Now" (1997)

(From the 1999 compilation of Taj Mahal's 1990's Private Music recordings, but first released on 1997's "Rock And Roll Doctor - A Tribute to Lowell George".)

"I Can't Stand the Rain" is a song originally recorded by #AnnPeebles in 1973, and written by Peebles, #DonBryant, and #BernardBernieMiller. Other notable versions were later recorded by #Eruption, #GrahamCentralStation, #TinaTurner, #Seal and #LowellGeorge. The original version is ranked at 197 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

"Ride Like the Wind" is the debut single by American singer-songwriter #ChristopherCross. It was released in February 1980 as the lead single from his Grammy-winning 1979 self-titled debut album. It reached number two on the US charts for four consecutive weeks, behind "#CallMe" by #Blondie. On the album's inner sleeve, Christopher Cross dedicated this song to #LowellGeorge, formerly of the band #LittleFeat, who had died in 1979.

Great cause and a wonderful listen. Sweet Relief's 1st album of Victoria Williams songs blew my mind - a great introduction to an underappreciated artist by familiar bands.
