After significant pressure from the city of Cambridge, the American Association of University Professors and Harvard faculty, staff, students, and alumni, Harvard issued this very (for them) powerful letter promising not to cave to federal pressure: https://www.harvard.edu/president/news/2025/the-promise-of-american-higher-education/
Protest makes a difference. So does calling your alma mater. So do city council resolutions. Public pressure is what will keep our community institutions on the right track or get them back on track if they are not.
Recommit today to picking something to work on, no matter how small it feels, that gets you involved in fighting what is going on. There are so many ways to fight and we need them all.

For how cold and wet it is out, today's ride to and from the #CambridgeMA rally — calling for #harvard not to bow before fascism as columbia and princeton are doing — was a pretty enjoyable excursion.
I am now a complete believer in merino wool. It's amazing to get wet on a cold day and be not-miserable about it. Like, I would prefer to be dry and warm, but wet and mostly-warm is a pretty cool result for "I put on a wool base layer under my jeans".
I know there's no way Club Passim intended their glass merch to evolve to this state, and it's in no way accurate to call Club Passim "assy," but it makes me giggle every time I use this cup now.
