Did you know bluejays replace all the head feathers every year? This is my friend, Thurston, in vulture phase. 😆🥰🤍🩵💙🐦💚💕

A bluejay perched on the white railing of the kitchen door landing, looking sheepishly this way, as if she’s self conscious about her looks. She is bald on the head right now, which is totally normal. The head feathers will grow back in no time. Background is the condo courtyard; green lawn and my flowerbed, separated by the low stone border.
The same scene, same bird. She is mostly white underbelly and has beautiful blue plumage decorated with white and black. Her head is currently grayish blue. Her beaks and feet are black. She’s looking to the left. Bald or not, she’s one gorgeous bluejay!
