I bought a coffee percolator, but lost the small funnel shaped spring that held the coffee holding canister up in it. So, I went to the store I bought the percolator from and asked about buying a replacement for this part. The store's employees looked at me as if I was from Mars (apparently such a request is outlandish).

The absolute disconnect between stores and the products they sell drives me bonkers. Anyway, I was unable to find such a spring; so I used a piece of a stainless steel sponge scrubber instead. It did work pretty well.
