#1 - "He's behind me, isn't he?"

#2 - The one from behind in the first picture, now down off the snow bank and deciding whether to approach the others at the food source. This one's a bit timid and gets chased off a lot. You can see here that they are primed, ready to run on a moment's notice - the rear legs are spread apart, haunches off the ground, legs ready to spring.

Two white-tailed jackrabbits sitting on a snowbank, both in their white winter coats with characteristic dark stripes up the ears and various mottled brown patterns over the nose and mouth/cheeks. The one on the right has significantly more brown over the head and even down its back. The one on the left is basically directly behind the other at a short distance. Both have ears erect and are trying to decide whether it's safe to go down the small hill to the food source.
A white-tailed jackrabbit, with white winter coat, dark ears and a splash of brown around the nose and mouth, and with mudstains at the very ends of its feet. It is standing alert, with haunches off the ground, rear legs spread apart and tensed for a quick getaway if it senses danger. The ears are erect and pointing in opposite directions to scan for that danger. It is looking directly at the camera, surrounded by snow on all sides, including a snow-covered planter to screen left that shields the jack from that direction.
