BBC Studios has a #YouTube channel that they've been gradually filling with classic "Doctor Who". Seems like every couple of days another complete story appears, with all episodes edited together and of course no commercials. These start at the first Doctor and go beyond Tom Baker -- but of course the only one we really care about is Baker -- the only real Doctor Who. A bunch of classic Baker stories about the Daleks are already up, and more Baker stories (and others) keep appearing. This is really great stuff.

Sidenote: My lovely Leela was named for Baker's companion "Leela" from some of these episodes -- like my Leela she was intelligent, beautiful, and sometimes -- deadly. #doctorwho

@lauren Hi. This isn't intended as a criticism, more a heartfelt plea; and it's not aimed at you because I suffer this crushing disappointment over and over again.

Please, everyone, if you announce that <x> has released <y> for streaming on <z>, and people comment that it's geo-blocked, would you consider editing the original post to reflect that?

I grew up in Britain; the third Doctor was my first; so I followed this link with glee only to discover it's blocked in South Africa =/

@thetruejona No, I won't. I don't have time to chase geoblocks, and I don't have time to deal with reports from people around the world about whether or not any given content is blocked where they are, nor do I have time to edit postings to take that into consideration (nor will such edits necessarily even propagate given Mastodon's limitations). Individual users can try the links -- it's just a click -- and see for themselves.

@lauren Fair enough. there's no need to be so rude about it though. (FWIW, I asked because you were already aware, having replied to a poster from New Zealand.)

@thetruejona Where am I being "rude"? You asked a question. I gave you a direct answer and explained my position. How is that "rude"?

C.

@lauren @thetruejona

> How is that "rude"?

My wife just ran into someone who claimed that using punctuation in a text was rude and aggressive - yes, for real. It seems half of everyone under 30 these days is so sensitive that "snowflake" doesn't even begin to cover it...

rude (adjective): presented in a manner which does not cater to your every whim and preference, or which paints you in anything but the most positive light
