On the subject of big rabbits...

There is a "horror" movie from 1972 called "Night of the Lepus". It's a monster movie, in which a town is terrorized by ... enormous bloodthirsty rabbits. It is amazingly, unintentionally funny. They didn't even use wild rabbits; it's just a bunch of cute pet rabbits of different breeds.

It's also available from the RiffTrax guys (rifftrax.com/night-of-the-lepu) with hilarious MST3K-style commentary.
