@alan On the labelling: since the bins are clear, I write the "label" in sharpie on the back of a quarter sheet of printed one side printer paper and slide it inside the end of the bin. I can read it through the bin wall, move or change it at will, and get to reuse paper before it's recycled. Of course, it only works if the contents hold the paper against the bin wall.
