I would like to see some of this coverage discuss the scam that "school choice" really is. School choice is not about giving every parent a choice in where they send their kids it's about giving federal tax dollars to rich people to fund their exclusive private schools.

If you give a poor or rural parent a $5,000 school choice voucher their kid still ends up in public school because they either don't have choices or cannot cover the remaining tuition that the voucher doesn't cover. If you give $5K to a wealthy urban/suburban family they just got a tax break, our money went to some religious school, and the whole rich family gets a vacation to Florida with the money they saved.

I'd rather see my money invested in an universal public system that teaches all kids, welcomes all kids, and serves all kids.
