Very sadly, as it turns out, I won’t be participating in #HandsOn tomorrow, much as I wanted to. Temps are going to be around 90F, and I’m not as young as I used to be. And, for the cherry on top of the crap cake, I can’t even participate in the virtual Hands Off event I actually signed up for because it’s later in the day and it won’t work. So I’m still just one measly person with nothing but a damn keyboard, and as many people have told me, that just isn’t enough. Nevertheless I will continue to try and do what I can. Please forgive me. #GoodNight

@lynnskyi Thanks, Lynn. I really wanted to show up tomorrow, but I wouldn’t be of any use to anyone if I sacrificed my health for this.
@Thumper1964 No! And if it's any consolation, I couldn't be out in that kind of heat or humidity either.
@Thumper1964 Don't feel bad. There are many of us who will be there in spirit. I know how you feel. I've been racking my brain all week trying to figure out how to get to our city's event, but I have to work, and by the time I get out the event will be ending.
We don't all have the health, mobility, or schedule freedom to protest in person. But there are other ways we can resist, in our own ways, within our own limitations. For example, I write letters and postcards, and I engage people in conversations, especially acquaintances who don't follow news closely. I have also been writing a book review every day, recommending books that will help us all become more informed, and I tell myself that's in a way a contribution to the spirit of resistance.
You have your keyboard, and that's your tool of resistance! If that's what you've got, it's enough!
