Running over a MicroUSB cable with my chair, squishing those little springy clips on the end, has made me really appreciate USB C. Too bad I still have lots of stuff using MicroUSB.

@BorrisInABox I thought I could get rid of all my Micro USB devices but it turns out I can't. The Soundlink Flex uses USB-C but doesn't have a 3.5MM input, so I've gone back to the Soundlink Mini 2.
I have a bluetooth tranceiver that uses Micro USB.
I just last week bought a travel battery charger for Eneloop AA and AAA that runs off of Micro USB.

When I travel I now have at least 3 devices that require it... Very irritating.

@FreakyFwoof Yep. The problem is I seem to be acquiring things that have USB C ports at about the same rate as Micro USB. My old Android phone has it, as does my portable radio-less Allstar node. In fact, it needs two of them.

@FreakyFwoof Oh yes, and I nearly forgot about the bias-t injector for my active magloop antenna. That's a MicroUSB thing as well.

@FreakyFwoof @BorrisInABox we've managed to get rid of all our MicroUSB devices. *technically* the H1N uses MicroUSB, but we never actually pull data off it that way. This thinkpad, thank every goddess, has a fucking MicroSD reader

@12 @FreakyFwoof I sometimes use my H1N as a microphone. So, guess what? MicroUSB. Oh yep.

@BorrisInABox @FreakyFwoof we've not ever actually done that, though we do recall using our original H1 as a speaker for a machine when we were instlaling windows and it had no audio drivers because it was one of htose cursed atom tablets that windows never ever ever ever has audio drivers for

@12 @FreakyFwoof I've used it in combination with Supertone Clear and some basic dynamics processing for zoom meetings in less than ideal portable situations.

@12 @FreakyFwoof I have a little gnarled monopod I mount it to if I need to hold it, or optionally mount it on a tripod. Thus, no handling noise and junk.

@BorrisInABox @FreakyFwoof oo, that's kind of a cool idea, and it has less of the weird boomy character of the H1N, thank fuck

@12 @FreakyFwoof I do like using it as a temporary USB mic a bit better than my Shure MV88 Plus, though it is small and cute.
