John Jolley<p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/November" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>November</span></a> is planting month for my <a href="https://mas.to/tags/torreypine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>torreypine</span></a> nursery! I put my first three trees into the ground today, and scouted a great fourth location near my house here in City Heights. I’ve got sixteen more trees to plant around my neighborhood, then in December, it will be time to stratify and plant more seeds for next year! <a href="https://mas.to/tags/guerrillagardening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>guerrillagardening</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/nativeplants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nativeplants</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/sandiego" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sandiego</span></a></p>
John Jolley<p>The hottest <a href="https://mas.to/tags/july" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>july</span></a> on record has not been kind to the <a href="https://mas.to/tags/torreypine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>torreypine</span></a> nursery I’ve got on my porch! Starting with nearly 40 saplings sprouted from seeds collected in the <a href="https://mas.to/tags/carmelvalley" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>carmelvalley</span></a> suburbs, 20 have survived, and most are exhibiting browning and other signs of strain. The ones that survive the summer will be planted in various innocuous locations in City Heights come November, and in December, it’ll be time to plant more seeds! <a href="https://mas.to/tags/guerillagardening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>guerillagardening</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/sandiego" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sandiego</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/nativeplants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nativeplants</span></a> #2023</p>
