Wulfy<p>The battle is over.<br>After 200+ days of lazy undermining of the <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/crypto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>crypto</span></a> miner reinstalling his miner in my <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Prometheus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Prometheus</span></a> container, and me slowing down and killing his miner, the guy must have checked their logs and did the only thing they could, fucked my <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Graphana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Graphana</span></a> dashboard database in revenge.<br>QQ.</p><p>I call it a draw.</p><p>(My first post about it)<br><a href="https://infosec.exchange/@n_dimension/113082098215654011" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">infosec.exchange/@n_dimension/</span><span class="invisible">113082098215654011</span></a></p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/infosec" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>infosec</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>docker</span></a><br>(Yes I should have tightened up the Prometheus container, but it was fun learning, in a car accident fun-way)</p>
patpro<p>Am I doing it wrong? Am I missing something?<br>Currently playing with <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/prometheus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>prometheus</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/graphana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>graphana</span></a> : it appears you need to open one TCP port per prometheus exporter. Meaning that for a server with node exporter, MySQL exporter, php fpm exporter, crowdsec native prometheus exporter, you’ll have to open 4 different ports and allow them in your firewall…<br>For this server that would be 1 service port (https) and 4 metrics ports!<br>This is insane and it does not scale well.</p>
Jevan<p>I was ready for a bit of a battle getting my main Docker server talking to Prometheus on my pi. It turns out it was ridiculously simple.</p><p>Tomorrow I'm going to look into setting up some notifications.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>docker</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/prometheus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>prometheus</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/graphana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>graphana</span></a></p>
Jevan<p>I've just got a Prometheus/Graphana monitoring setup working on my home network. It's complete and total overkill but goodness me it's nice to look at. :D</p><p>It's just monitoring some Docker containers at the moment along with the pi it's all running on, but I'll get it snooping on the rest soon.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>docker</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/prometheus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>prometheus</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/graphana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>graphana</span></a></p>
