"Capitalism's defining feature is that most economic activity (meaning production, consumption & distribution) takes place in the private sector with the goal of accumulating private profit. The goal isn't to support human or planetary well-being. It's to accumulate private profit"

#Carney sounds like he gets the urgency and danger of the crisis. I really hope so. Poilievre comes across as clueless.

"to succeed in a crisis, you have to act with overwhelming force," Carney said at an announcement in Ontario. "In a crisis … the private sector retreats, and government needs to step up. Government must lead and catalyze private investment."

In a globalized economy that collectively suffers inflation, banker corruption collapse, pandemics and war, it is wise to make relative comparisons, not ignore them.

Yes debt is bad, but Canada has relative wiggle room and needs investment in housing, energy, export supply lines and a terrific investment in military to compensate for lagging for so long and for defence. Interest rates should also continue to drop until the orange fuhrer drops.

Yes, Rebel News is a threat to Canadian democracy because it purposely poisons, divides, and creates controversy. We're witnessing the damage such organizations like FoxTV and Breibart create in the U.S. When are we going to stop it in Canada? Blundell does a deep dive into Rebel News. Not a news organization by any stretch of the imagination, yet the preferred media organization of Poilievre.

@Gumberculese @Mayor_of_Smartarse 🇨🇦 [Christo-fascism] also explains why Stephen Harper would abolish **the role of **science advisor in the federal government only to open an Office of **Religious Freedom **under the department of Foreign Affairs with an annual $5-million budget.
Why?
Because millions of suburban white evangelical Christians consider religious freedom a more vital issue than same-sex marriage or climate change.

"Older women don't trust Pierre #Poilievre— we've
seen these red flags before.
We know what control, manipulation, and blame-shifting look like.
We've learned to walk away from people who attack truth, sow division, and try to gaslight us into silence.
That's not leadership. That's a pattern.
And we're not falling for it."
