I remember when Pine64 announced that the default operating system would be Manjaro Plasma for the Pinephone Pro (see link).

@markgrieveson That is the risk with this business model. On the positive side, the hardware is cheaper. On the negative side, since you aren't also funding software developers and support, you are dependent on unpaid community support. It is hard for that model to work long term without a sufficiently large (and generous) community to provide free labor and replace people who inevitably lose interest or burn out.
