I think for MLMs, women are duped in by the easy barriers to entry - you don't need tech or a fancy degree - just friends! They also promise flexibility to work around kids and schedules, with things becoming more effortless with an established pyramid under you. Both and promise the "get rich quick with limited effort" lie, and just drain everyone dry.
