Here's how it works for those who don't speak Evangelical: basically it's the same as those shared FB accounts. Guy A and guy B both desire to look at porn, but for whatever reason do not wish to do so. So they set it up so that they can see each others browser history. Sometimes there are more than two people involved, who can all see each others history. It keeps honest people honest, if they say they are not looking at porn.
There are a lot...a LOT...of great reasons to not be happy he is in a position of power, but this isnt one of them.
I also have to say from my perspective , if one were to call themselves sex-positive, but still get their knickers in a twist because of what this guy is doing behind closed doors, then maybe some reflection is in order.
@Condorito @thomasfuchs The accountability buddies thing is unusual and potentially a security risk, but I suspect it’s not the problem for most people. Everybody should understand the desire to improve or maintain status quo and that accountability buddies are a tool for that goal.
The distressing part is that he’s doing this *with his son*. That power imbalance is ridiculous. Deeply creepy.
Doing behind closed doors _with his son_?
@Condorito @thomasfuchs 100% agree. There are a *whole host* of reasons to dislike Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. He supported the Jan 6 insurrection for one. But him and his son choosing to be accountability partners for a very common action that they believe goes against their faith (and that can also become a harmful addiction) is definitely not one of them.
@Condorito @thomasfuchs unless they have discovered the high technology of "incognito mode".
If you're going fishing, invite two Baptists, cause if you only bring one he'll drink all your whisky.
@Condorito @thomasfuchs Interesting, does it record like private browser mode or incognito as well ? otherwise it'd be a bit easy to get around
