𝖛𝖑𝖆𝖉𝖎𝖒𝖎𝖗 † † †<p>Hey folks! My first painted mini, can I have feedbacks? :)<br>I really like what I did with the riffle!<br>Also I only used red blue yellow ans white acrylic<br><a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/warhammer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warhammer</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/WarhammerCommunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WarhammerCommunity</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/warhammerpainting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warhammerpainting</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>So I tried to use the old paint I found and immediately I know they won’t work. You can tell in this little panel on the mech. I’m NOT saying cheap acrylics won’t work; just ones that have been sitting in a hot garage for 15 years are garbage. :shiba: So, now it’s time to buy some paints… <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>Okay, now that I've posted pictures, now I can see that the Sister WAS primed pretty well so I feel better about that.</p><p>Also it's _really_ hard to take picture of her head. <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>And sacrificial mech, pre and post priming. <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>Post-priming… <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>Priming has been finished. I will say that, with the Sister it is actually somewhat hard to see if it's primed or not since the grey I was using so closely resembles the sprue itself. Therefore, this is a little bit of a prayer that it's fully coated. I _did_ see pooling, so I know paint got on it. It looks even, so I'm thinking we're good.</p><p>The head, much easier to see.</p><p>The sacrificial mech was a lighter color so it was easier to see. </p><p>Pre-priming...<br> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Kerrick_the_Painter<p>Just waiting on some things to dry but I’ll have the the finished results of the easy Black Legion paint scheme soon.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/modelpainting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>modelpainting</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/wip" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wip</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/paintingwarhammer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>paintingwarhammer</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/warhammer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warhammer</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/warhammercommunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warhammercommunity</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/warhammer40000" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warhammer40000</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/chaosspacemarines" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>chaosspacemarines</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/hereticastartes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hereticastartes</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/blacklegion40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>blacklegion40k</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/akinteractive" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>akinteractive</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/thearmypainter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>thearmypainter</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/monumenthobbies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>monumenthobbies</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>For the priming itself, I'm using Stynlyrez, gray and black. In most cases I will be utilizing the grey primer as most of my Sisters do not have any black or significantly dark colors. The exception to this is the face, but that might change down the line as well.</p><p>Both will also have some Vallejo airbrush flow improver just to make sure it's running well through my airbrush.<br> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>it doesn't have the control a full fledged airbrush has, ... I find for my purposes and what I use it for it works just fine. It's consistent with it's air pressure, doesn't get to hot, and, even more important, takes next to no space (no compressor to deal with).</p><p>You can find the one I used here: <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MFFQQ17?ie=UTF8&amp;th=1" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">amazon.com/gp/product/B09MFFQQ</span><span class="invisible">17?ie=UTF8&amp;th=1</span></a></p><p>If I wanted to do fancier stuff with the airbrush, this one may not cut the mustard. But again, for what I'm doing, it works well.<br> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>For priming, rather than using a rattle, spray-can of primer, I'm going to be airbrushing my primer on. This is partly due to the fact that where I live is _HIGH_ humidity. The last time I tried this I had an incredible amount of "feathering". I have found that doing it this way I'm able to get a good primer coat on and it's convenient.</p><p>For this, I am using a USB chargeable airbrush I picked up a few months back. While…<br><a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>Therefore, I will also be priming a spare figure I have from Plaid Hat Games' Starship Samurai (this one was broken and replaced by PHG, love those guys!). So, while I continue to research and purchase the paints for the Sister, I am going to be testing those older paints on the mech and see how well they do. If they work fine, well then by golly I'm going to save money where I can.<br> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
Saoirse Dulip<p>My intention tomorrow is to do priming on the Sister as I get ready for the painting process. Admittedly, I do not yet have the paints I want to use for her yet. Citadel brand paints are costly after all and I want to make sure I'm getting what I need.</p><p>That said, I did find a whole bunch of very old, super cheap acrylic paint that I had once used a long time ago the first time I tried painting minis. A little testing earlier and I think they will still work…<br> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/Warhammer40k" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Warhammer40k</span></a> <a href="https://gamepad.club/tags/SistersOfBattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SistersOfBattle</span></a></p>
