In the parlance of contemporary #AusPol, #USpol and #UKpol it seems to me that there are now only two social classes, "the wealthy" (sometimes + "elites") and "the middle class".

I'm calling bullshit on this. It looks to me like a conscious effort to erase the poor. Say it, you chicken-shit politicians, say something about what you are doing to help the poor, or the not-members-of-working-families. What ever the actual fuck a "working family" is.

Here endeth the (quite a lot shorter than it could be) #rant.

There is a myth that increasing housing supply will lead to lower rents or affordable housing.

Despite a recent increase in housing supply, Spain has more problems than ever. The right want to blaim squatters but the real problem is a lack of governmental control over housing production.

Left to the market, housing production will not meet housing need. Here in the UK we have no squatters but the problem is the same, our housing supply is increasingly not meeting need.Jacked-up rents are leading to a rentier economy where wealth is extracted by landords and banks.
