For #MeerMittwoch and from a wander around the coastline of A Coruña last year, this was from the terrace area of the aquarium looking north west to a calm Atlantic Ocean. All being well, we should be revisiting this lovely Spanish city in about five weeks.

It's a moody, overcast day, but it feels warm and the layers of bubbling grey cloud overhead are thin with the hope that they might burn off. We're standing on a shoreline looking out to a flat, grey sea. The shore is rocky with warm-toned boulders, huge and smoother near us but becoming more craggy as this small promontory pokes out into the water. A couple of small, natural bays have formed in the gaps between some of the masses of rocks a little further out from us and the rock colour is darker there, likely because it's most often battered by waves when the wind is up. At our feet and on some boulders just beyond there are small growths of plant life, low, sprouting from cracks in the rocky surfaces, tightly-packed greenery with small yellow flowering tips. It feels pleasant here with no wind and only the lapping sound of the small motion of the water interacting with the rocks around.

Lot of birds soaring over the ocean right next to the shore at Half Moon Bay State Beach. The waves are very gentle. There are a few streak of white clouds in the blue sky, and the ocean is a dark blue.

I love photographing waves. Actually anything that has to do with water, but that splashing water, that constantly changing shape, I love it. It never bores me. I've taken a lot of them too
