I'm not sure whether I should be the one to ask for a CVE registration. I prefer to leave that to Mozilla.
I repeatedly asked them if they were able to reproduce it, but there was no answer (adding my former experiences with vulnerability reports, I would not be surprised if zillions of vulnerabilities remain unpatched because of miscommunications and misunderstandings).
It tested this bug on a number of devices owned by different people, but most (if not all) of those devices had their configuration secured as good as possible by me, so I cannot fully exclude that I'm a common factor - while others may not be able te reproduce it. That could significantly reduce severity.
By going public I hope to get some acknowledgements that this vulnerability reproduces (perhaps I should have stated that louder, but the longer a toot, the less it gets read).
So I prefer to wait and see what (if anything) happens. Thanks again!

So yeah, even if anything beyond the minimalist 1440kB Floppy is quite bigger, being able to #reproduce a system and have #ReproduceableBuilds is in my eyes the only way to get enough #trust so #CriticalInfrastructure providers would consider it even remotely for use.
And that's why I use #toybox: Because the motivations align with those of @landley and I also want counter-#FUD decisionmakers by showing them:
"This is what I'd use to administrate your critical #Linux / #BSD / #Unix servers. You don't have to trust me, here's the code that you can build it yoursef - airgapped and inhouse - and it WILL exceed any security and auditability criteria you can create that any other OS can comply with!"
Not to mention a compact system can just yoink itself into RAM and just be available for tasking, making #ThinClient updates super fast and easy to facilitate across machines, preventing any persistence of malicious code or unauthorized access beyond reboot...
Basically the #VT69 dumb terminal but over #SSH and thus way more practical!

The entire #BRICS project is centred around the question of whether countries at the nether end of the #neocolonial system can break out of that system through mutual #trade and #cooperation, or whether the larger countries (including those in the BRICS) will inevitably enjoy asymmetries of #power and scale against smaller countries and therefore #reproduce #inequalities rather than transcend them.
This is how I usually set up the beginning of my #knitr / #quarto scripts to download data from #osf that I then use for analysis in the rest of the script.
This way I only need to share the script, and anybody who wants to #reproduce the results will always get the right datafile.
