I am early to the bus stop as I haven’t got my timings right yet walking from work to a bus stop or the train station. Still, the bus pulls up early too and as this is the starting stop, the young driver has time to get off the bus and have a quick cigarette. I have plenty of time to get a good seat.

People are very nice at the Unnamed Government Agency. People chat in the brief lift ride to my floor even though they don't know me, or me them. I guess it's because we're the only tenants in the building, so we all connected.

An older woman says to me, "Watch out for your shoelace. It's undone!” "Oh, thank you. At my age it's a bit hard to bend down and tie it up again on the fly,” I reply. "Same here," she says, with a conspiratorial wink and a slight elbow nudge.

This afternoon, even though it’s a holiday, I stopped by the office to check if any important mail had arrived. When I opened the door, I saw something moving on the wall - it was a gecko! A few years ago, spotting one around here would’ve been quite unusual.
I moved slowly and quietly, but it didn’t seem scared of me at all.

He’s now called Jack, and I think he’ll be a pleasant little office companion.
Too bad he hasn’t learned to use the toilet yet!

WFH

One of my biggest pet peeves, along with those that leave their shopping trolley in a supermarket aisle while they go to get another an item from elsewhere , is those that stand in front of the microwave in the cafeteria and thus blocking easy access to the cutlery drawers. C’mon people!

Caught an earlier bus his morning so arrived at work early enough to secure a good spot in the fridge for my lunchbox. Small victories.

At my Unnamed Government Agency, I have read-only access to the payroll system. Password rules are a minimum of 14 characters, of which at least three must be lower case, three must be special characters, three must be numeric and three must be uppercase. To be changed monthly.

One of my coworkers gifted me a #succulent today. It is #smol but mighty.

Was 20mins late for work this morning thanks to my shitty kid and the shitty drive in. I was even shitted on by a bird WHILE driving.

BUT I did score a new office chair with LUMBAR SUPPORT which I didn't know I needed.

ALSO the office temp saga continues. We got in this morning at 63F (17c)

2 - In last 24hrs, I got 16 emails from Indeed. 16... I want notifications on new jobs but 16? Bruh...

3 - The office heating was shut off over the weekend (it was hot Friday) so now we're sitting here at 66F (18C), it's usually set to 72F-73F and it's 32F (0c) outside right now.

I just geeked out pretty hard about #anime and #animeconvention to a coworker who showed the slightest interest. Might have come on a little too strong there. Oops.
