you cannot "cure" autism. it's a part of someone and how their brain works. you can't always tell if someone has autism. if you've met one autistic person, you've met one autistic person. no, autism isn't a disease, it's a disability. no, vaccines don't cause autism. yes, girls can be autistic. :neurodi:

I have bought a spoon.

I was recommended this by Brandon Sanderson, who was posting about his love of Korean style desert spoons as part of a neurodivergent preference.

So I’m going to give it a try. The bowl end feels a little large, but the balance and handle are super nice.

“Midnight Madness”

It took a little longer than the others but in the end I’m glad it did.

Now normally, I would move on to another small project that would incorporate the new skills/techniques I’ve acquired. However this time I think I’m going to keep at it. I’m throughly enjoying just making backgrounds and following along to instructionals.

(I have to mention, all of these illustrations I’ve made are based off the teachings of YouTuber James Julier. He’s great at instructing you through the process.)

I’ll post the progress video later! 👁️💋👁️

I promise I’m still working on my background studies 🥲 I just have a smol family that I’m financially responsible for 😬

Here a sneek peek at the latest background art I’m working. This one is quite a step up in terms of context and the different techniques I’ve never used for digital. It’s coming along though, and I’m already super happy with it! Hopefully I’ll be able to post up the finished version this afternoon!

The US #school system is deeply flawed.

Why do we force #children to sit still for 8 hours per day? Force them to wake/sleep against their brain's natural cycle (sleep is when #memories form and for kids, neurodevelopment too).

Sometimes we even throw #medications at them to force this #compliance.

And if a kid is #neurodivergent, this is extremely toxic. e.g. I am NOT OK, the public school system has given me #cPTSD, and stunted my intellectual development.

We need to do better for all #kids. And banning #books is not the right way to do it.

@cwicseolfor @TonyaMarie @oldladyplays @tilde I used to get shit from classmates for saying "you forgot to assign homework" up to lower middle school. It really grinded my gears that people try to half-ass their way through it, and routine was important to me.

Since upper middle school, I was universally loved by classmates. Why? Because I realized that fundamentally, school fucking sucks, and my goal shifted to minimizing the amount of work I have to do. So I constantly stalled classes with debates about pointless shit and played off homework assignments in a way that favors students.

People say that autistics are rigid, but once something *clicks*, it is quite easy and fast to pull an 180.

One of the things that I used to do is run board game parties for #autistic people to socialize. Many of my friends are social workers and are companions to #neurodivergent individuals.

I have a rather good sized game collection with lots of rare games but that also means it is a dated collection.

If you're into #boardgames please suggest some of your favorites.

If you're inclined to help, here are some games I've been looking at to bolster my collection.

SweetTarts

ANY time I have any of these, they get dumped onto my desktop & sorted.

Then I eat one at a time from the longest row until it's even with the 2nd longest.

Then I alternate between those 2 until they're even with the 3rd longest...

I may have a slight #NeuroDivergent thing goin' on here.
