The church shifted from Catholic to Protestant after the
Reformation. Many locals were buried here, including some prominent figures, like Saskia van Uylenburgh, Rembrandt’s wife. 
Now a cultural venue, it hosts exhibitions, concerts & art. Though no longer used for services, its historic soul remains alive at the Oudekerksplein.
