Let’s talk about one of the least intuitive words in Hebrew.

Please.

It’s not the easiest one to guess…

But here’s the good news:

✅ It’s also the word for “there you go” (like when a waiter brings your food)

✅ And for “you’re welcome”

One tricky word — three super useful meanings.

You’ll hear it everywhere in Israel.

Save the video so that you have it in your pocket whenever you need it 👀

Then drop a comment if you’ve ever heard it used in a way that surprised you!

I'm new here. Here's my #introduction. 🌱

My name is Mim; I live in a tiny apartment in a tiny village amongst the fields and farms of rural #Nebraska.

I love sewing, drawing, playing the piano, baking, and crafting. I'm doing the #OdinProject with my daughter to refresh and relearn web development, the newest challenge in my life.

I believe in #manners, #creativity, #honesty, #positivity, #humor, #kindness, and #imagination.

I look forward to meeting you! 🌱

When someone asks a question and the person replys; the correct response is: Thanks! That's a minimum response and if 6 lettters are beyond your typing ability drag your heavy cursor and hit the star.
Ignorance is bliss execpt when it is just rude.
Courtesy costs nothing but pays in spades.

A quotation from Judith Martin

Miss Manners is amazed at the number of otherwise gentle souls who turn nasty when they are driving. And they all suffer from the wonderful, ostrich-like delusion that they cannot be identified because they are safely inside their cars. It seems silly to her to have to say what good driving manners are. They are the same as the simplest, most obvious of non-driving manners, except that each person is surrounded by thousands of dollars of treacherous metal.

Trump’s ambush of Zelensky killed #diplomacy

Instead of analyzing its political impact, let’s focus on details of #manners, gestures. It may seem less important, but reveal more about underlying basic stance

The #behavior of 2 #arrogant, self-assured US politicians treating the leader of #Ukraine in extremely #disrespectful, #brutal manner. The only country whose representatives using such brutal language is #Russia

#Manners What is it, that prevents people from having the class, manners & education to say hi & thanks back, when I greet them & thank them for a follow, ratherh than the standard silent like. It's not rocket science, it's called SOCIAL media, these are so-called writers & communicators? SMH...

It will never stop annoying me when I offer something on #TrashNothing or #Freecycle, and someone says they want it and names a specific day and time when they're going to come pick it up, and then they no-show and ghost me.
If you're enough of a grown-up to be participating in one of these groups, you're enough of one to figure out to show up when you say you're going to or apologize if you can't.
Grow the fuck up, show some respect for other people.

"I can’t put my finger on why but social etiquette seems to have gone out of the window and with it, general care for others," writes @Refinery29's Tanyel Mustafa. Over the past couple of years she's noticed people don't let others get off the train before boarding, they talk over the music at gigs, they look at their phones in the movie theater. She blames individualism and says we need to move back to finding value in small connections — and maybe even call out the bad behavior. Have you noticed people are ruder and more inconsiderate these days? Tell us in the comments if you have a theory as to why.

_The Evening Post_, 18 October 1924:
TRAFFIC CONTROL
DUTIES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
“… The time has also arrived when safety crossing zones should be distinctly marked in #Manners street, #Willis street, and #Lambton quay, all traffic crossing these zones to be at a restricted pace. #Pedestrians crossing the streets at any point between these safety zones would do so at their own risk. I am of the opinion that we must give the patrol officer more practical support and encouragement in his work, which at the best is a somewhat thankless job. Another matter calling for attention is the manner in which motorists rush through crowds of people on the street who are in readiness to board a tram. They do this, no doubt, to avoid the wait while the tram sets down or picks up passengers, but this method of speeding-up is becoming a menace to the users of the trams.”
