As far as opening the main stage for the night, you can't get much further from Karina than SG Goodman. Songwriting like if Patterson Hood was a woman from Kentucky with a superb slowburn country rock sound. Always good to see her play and her banter is the driest I've seen. Funny bit about knowing who the MMJ crazies are because they call them "Jacket." lol.

Today: first time seeing/hearing Eggy. Took a little bit, but eventually won me over with a couple choice covers appropriately taken deep. Pretty much sounded like I imagined they would, very jambandy in the strictest sense. At their worst, it's "PH lite," but a lot of fun and that was only an hour set in the afternoon on the beach, so I'll give it a pass. Would see again. (possibly later tonight, assuming I make it to the end).

Gave a concert with my duo Akleja yesterday evening very locally, only a one hour drive from home - which means I was able to spend some time in my garden before heading out! This is the life, folks! I love playing local gigs, what a dream ❤️

Wishing you a good weekend and that you can make some time to listen to a piece of music in silence, go for a walk and smell some flowers 🌟🌷

Karina Rykman is just, straight-up, one of the coolest humans I have the honor of knowing. Opening up the music proper at One Big Holiday. One time zone back in the armpit of Florida, which is the armpit of the armpit.... it's like the armpit inception here, and me without any deodorant. But having a head's-all-empty blast, nonetheless.

Finally got to see Pigs x7 live after two misses - utterly class gig, I'm a sucker for noise rock but special even for that.

I love that they don't take themselves too seriously either - claiming their bassist is Macho Man Randy Savage and choosing to end with a long, really loud song then exit to The Vengaboys is *chef's kiss*.

Kudos for their excellent support too - Irked are a fun punk band and though I missed Lower Slaughter I've seen them before and know they're good.
