I am an astronomer who most likes starburst galaxies but who now mainly works with data of integral field spectrographs and gets involved in projects about various other observational topics.

I just moved to fediscience.org because my former home at astrodon.social is closing. After a few years in the fediverse I still don't know how to properly use it. My old content continues to be available for some time at astrodon.social/@PWei888

Trying to post about papers I'm involved in, podcasts I listen to, and other things vaguely related to my work. Experimenting with bridging to Bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/PWei888.astrodon.social.ap.brid.gy).

Hello Mastodon! Time for a proper #introduction.

I'm a writer from Poland, fascinated by what I believe is the most important story of our time: the rise of Artificial Intelligence. I don't focus on the code, but on the human side of this revolution – how it impacts our work, our creativity, and our minds.

I share my deep dives and reflections on my Medium blog. You can find my work here:

Looking forward to connecting with fellow #AI, #tech, #philosophy, and #writing enthusiasts!

Joining Mastodon/Fediverse again to build some more online presence.

I'm Robert, I'm a Bachelor's in IT student at #WGU graduating this month and moving into a Master's in IT Management this August.

I'll mainly talk about #linux, #tech, #foss, #opensource, and occasionally #macos.

Building work experience for now with a short term goal of becoming a System Administrator, and a long term goal of becoming a CIO.

Hey @neurodivergent4climatejustice
#welcome to the Fediverse and climatejustice.social.

Glad to have you here.
If you ever have any questions or need help you can always ask me.

Here is some #AltText for your pictures:

1, text:
Important note. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all my fellow neurodivergents, the philosophers, the social scientists and others who have been discussing and working on these definitions the last couple decades. Note that all definitions are still evolving, because the movement is still evolving. "Not about us, without us."

1, design:
In the background there is a drawing of a small planet with a giant tree with foliage in all rainbow colors. On top there are two stylized pink heart symbols with lines radiating in all directions and on the bottom there is a stylized brain consisting of colorful bubbles. The bottom bubble looks like a speech bubble where the stem represents the connection to the spinal cord.

2, text:
Neurodiversity. The term neurodiversity emerged in the '90s in the online autism community. Since then this grassroots social movement has been standing up for their rights, has been changing the perception on neurodiversity and has been fighting ableism. Not only the movement has grown and changed, so has the definition. There is no leader, no official organization or official definition, which means that the meaning of neurodiversity is still evolving. At this moment I resonate the most with the following meaning: Neurodiversity refers to the infinite variety of neuro-cognitive capabilities in the human brain. It is as essential to the human race as biodiversity is to all live on Earth. This changes the whole view of the system created by the neurotypical human. The brain that learns, processes and responds differently than what is perceived as 'normal or typical' is therefore not a disorder or bad deviation that needs to be fixed. It is a variety in the diversity of the human brain that is essential to the human race. This changes everything in a very positive way. Note: This is a minimalist description. I can imagine that some of my fellow neurodivergents may disagree and that's okay. We are all part of the neurodiverse social grassroots movement, that is still learning and evolving.

2, design:
Same tree in the background.

3, text & design:
Some examples of a neurodiverse group of people: Option 1: 4 stylized people. 3 blue labeled neurotypical. 1 pink labeled neurodivergent. Option 2: 4 stylized people in different colors, all labeled neurodivergent. In the background there is the same tree again.

#Alt4You

You can always ask others to write alt text for you if you are not able or have the spoons for whatever reason. Just use #Alt4Me and people can respond. You can then edit your post and copy-paste the alt text into the appropriate field.

Howdy, my name is Kadallah, but I answer to many things. It's hard to reduce a human into 500 characters, but I'm an artist, techno-political theorist, pan-Africanist, and buddhist.

I helped catalyze ANANSI, an arts collective exploring an explicitly pan-African approach to decentralization across tech, community, governance, economics and the arts.

I currently work for @opencollective and will soon start working for @medlab

Came back to sunny.garden as an alt account. I am not able to just speak off topic at scholar.social. I need to be someplace I can speak freely about my feelings, #disability, occasional discuss feeling stressed out about my job, and such.

I will be posting my #poetry over here instead of at scholar.social. I will be breathing much easier and without the tight restrictions of scholar.social. And I can post some of my memos and notes that are not directly related to scholarly concerns.

Hello #WolfZone community! 🐺✨

I’m beyond excited to share some big news: I’ve officially joined the Wolf Zone Discord server as a Partial Owner, working hand-in-hand with our primary owner to keep this space safe, welcoming, and downright awesome for everyone. Over the past months, I’ve had the privilege of watching this community grow—from late-night brainstorming sessions in #ideas, to epic game nights in #voice-chat, to heartfelt conversations in #introductions. Now, I get to help shape its future!

What This Role Means

1. 24/7 Support & Moderation
Whether you’re facing a pesky bot error, unsure about our rules, or just need help navigating the server, I’ll be right there. My goal is to handle technical hiccups promptly, enforce our guidelines consistently, and make sure every voice here feels heard and respected.

2. Fresh Events & Activities
Giveaways, tournaments, watch-parties, creative challenges—you name it, we’ll explore it! I’m already planning a series of monthly game nights (with prizes 🎁), art jams for our talented creators, and even a Wolf Zone trivia series with custom badges for the winners.

3. Community-Driven Improvements
This isn’t my server—it’s ours. I’ll be setting up regular polls and suggestion threads so that your ideas drive our next channel topics, bot integrations, role perks, and more. If you’ve ever thought “Hey, it’d be cool if…,” now’s your chance to make it a reality.

Oversight & Transparency

Rest assured, every decision I make will be monitored and reviewed by our primary owner. This layer of oversight ensures we maintain consistent standards, stay transparent, and foster trust across the entire Wolf Zone. Think of it like a safety net: it keeps us all aligned and accountable.

Why I’m Here

I joined Wolf Zone because I’ve seen firsthand the power of community. Here, friendships form over shared memes, support blossoms in #vent-support, and creativity flows in #showcase. It’s a place where you can be your authentic self—and that’s something worth protecting and growing.

What’s Next?

- 🔧 Immediate Fixes & Updates: Look out for tweaks to channel organization and bot performance over the next week.
- 📅 Event Calendar Launch: I’ll post our first round of events by next Monday—mark your calendars!
- 🗣️ Open Q&A Session: I’ll host a live AMA in #office-hours so you can ask questions, drop suggestions, or just say hi.

Let’s Build Something Epic!

Wolf Zone has always been more than just a server—it’s a vibrant home for gamers, artists, storytellers, and friends. As Partial Owner, I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves, brainstorm with you, and bring your ideas to life. Together with our amazing team of mods and, most importantly, all of you, we’ll keep Wolf Zone not just alive, but thriving.

Stay tuned for more updates, hit me up with your thoughts, and let’s continue making Wolf Zone the best corner of the fediverse! 🌐💙

Partial Owner, Wolf Zone

Hi all 🙂

I've just finished moving instances.

It's a me! HierophantOfHecate, AnnaOutOfSpace, LocalBogwitch, RacoonQueenOfHammel are but a few of the names I've gone by!

I think I managed to move all of my followers and export/import all my lists.

Time to start shitposting! ..or y'know the usual mix of photos, lamentations, dad-joke level humor 🎉

Hey there! I’m Kira—an 18-year-old who’s all about casual gaming, belting out tunes, and building awesome online communities. By day (and let’s be honest, sometimes well into the night), you’ll catch me behind the scenes as an admin at tootworld.social, making sure everything runs smoothly and helping newcomers find their place. I’m also a proud co-owner of the Wolf Zone Discord server, where we host game nights, music jams, and plenty of friendly chatter.

When I’m not moderating or singing cover songs, you’ll find me exploring Mastodon and the wider Fediverse—there’s always something new to discover, from art showcases to thoughtful discussions. I’m also pretty active on Bluesky, so feel free to ping me wherever you like. To keep all my profiles and favorite links in one spot, I’ve put together a handy Linktree.

I love meeting new people, swapping game recommendations, and sharing song ideas, so don’t be shy—follow me and hit that bell icon to stay in the loop. Can’t wait to connect!

New here, why I’m here

I joined Facebook 20yrs ago when it felt genuine and personal. Now, as a cyclist and former hill walker and motorcyclist, my feed is filled with clickbait about accidents involving those activities. Same with Twitter, which started great for connecting with my edtech tribe but then turned vitrioolic. Hoping Mastodon offers a kinder, more thoughtful space.

What's been your experience?
