(closely followed by world-wide stagflation and interest rates thru the roof). the pathway of — *save in a dedicated account *qualify for a linked low interest loan * get a mortgage for your owner-occupied home — was gone.</p><p>urban sprawl changed the face of housing. with no decent public transport, the cost of commuting is greater than the cost of avocado toast.</p><p>negative gearing, the provisions of which have been loosened in favour of investors several times, makes it all worse. availability of funding is not the biggest problem; the biggest problem is politicians.</p><p>how kind of dutton to suggest young people starting out who have sod all in their super funds should be able to use their own money to get into the property market 🙄</p>
