💁🏻‍♀️ ICYMI: Every #spring, migratory #birds make incredible journeys from Central and #SouthAmerica to their breeding grounds in #NorthAmerica, navigating thousands of miles and countless hazards.

This Cornell Lab of #Ornithology visualization shows the pathways of 15 different species, highlighting how they navigate cities and landscapes. It also reminds us how small interventions like reducing nighttime lighting and making windows bird-visible can help protect these travelers. 📊🐦

Johan Cruyff on the limits of data:

‘What I know for certain is that the conclusions I would draw from experience are different from the ones based only on figures. Because if Lionel Messi scores three times out of every ten attempts, he might be criticized by someone who sees only the statistics for being just 30 per cent effective. I’d say: just copy him and see if you can get up to that level. It’s practically impossible.’

Does anyone know if there is a way for #VLC Media Player to retain #playlist data after closing the program? I had a crash today, and recreating my playlist was hard. I have tried saving to an XSPF playlist file, but these don't update with new entries (they seem to be read-only) If the feature doesn't exist, I am willing to put aside some money to send to VideoLAN to have it as a feature on Linux and other platforms.
