It got back down again from the basil pot but it was pretty difficult so I made a ramp with an #openSUSE stuffed Geeko as it should have a good texture for grip and a spare headphone ear cushion for stability for the next time.
Some of the girls came home with legs weighed down by pollen. Each day I'm noticing more pollen. It reached 70°F today so they were also more active than any other day so far. This probably sounds dumb but I just sit about 5ft from the hive and watch. They are so damn fascinating! I'm looking forward to looking in on Bee Arthur Sunday afternoon.

Looks like good pollination on the apricot tree even though I'll probably remove all but a few if they set.
On today's walk, I mostly found very small critters, but still interesting, here is a bee.
Without my glasses I thought that this was some weird dirt clump on the floor that I was about to sweep up, until I saw it moving (very slowly, I don't think it can fly right now). It's having a drink of sugar water from a jar lid and hopefully it'll perk up.
The ladies are up and working hard today. It's exciting to see more and more bees as the temperature rises. Hopefully I'll find signs of brood on Sunday and resources starting to be stored.

A short bee video after lots of beekeeping things today. Not a lot of pollen but it only got up to 53F/12C today and no sun until late afternoon.
Lots of bees gathering water after the rain, I guess this leaf provided something tasty.
@Pollinators I looked it up to be sure and it's the Lorenzo Langstroth's 1861 book Hive and the Honey Bee, which is the third edition. It was not in the first edition.

@feather1952 Yes - it's a tragedy. In my local area there are still essentially no bees and haven't been for a couple of years now. I'm elated on my walks to ever see them in other areas.
Here at home, I had one and then two little bees visiting my flowering parsley a few months ago so I didn't disturb them. They have disappeared and I haven't seen any more here. Pretty concerning
