“Dejen dar a las flores un paseo
En lunes, para que pueda ver
Diez margaritas en un florero azul
Con, quizás una hormiga roja
Trepando hacia el centro de oro.
Un pedazo de campo en mi mesa,
Cerca de los gusanos que se agitan deslumbrados,
Moviéndose en el fondo de su viscosidad,
Moviéndose en lo profundo del abdomen de dios,
Moviéndose como aceite en el agua
Deslizándose al través de la buena tierra.

I've long been a follower (and patron) of the wonderful Backlisted podcast; it's the only one I listen to on a regular basis, and so often the books they cover are ones I already love or ones I want to read. However, as there's only usually a week's notice of what the next title will be, I rarely manage to read a new book ahead of the broadcast.

«Meses permaneció mi mano aislada

Quizá esté magullada, pensé,

I have gone out, a possessed witch,
haunting the black air, braver at night;
dreaming evil, I have done my hitch
over the plain houses, light by light:
lonely thing, twelve-fingered, out of mind.
A woman like that is not a woman, quite.
I have been her kind.
— Anne Sexton
Everyone in me is a bird.
I am beating all my wings.
They wanted to cut you out
but they will not.
They said you were immeasurably empty
but you are not.
They said you were sick unto dying
but they were wrong.
You are singing like a school girl.
You are not torn.

'I have found the warm caves in the woods,
filled them with skillets, carvings, shelves,
closets, silks, innumerable goods;
fixed the suppers for the worms and the elves:
whining, rearranging the disaligned.
A woman like that is misunderstood.
I have been her kind.'
