Mara<p>Communicated for the first time with my new <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/YALI" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>YALI</span></a> mentee. It’s a leadership program for young African leaders and I have served as a virtual <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/mentor" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>mentor</span></a> for several years. He is a young man named Michael from Kilimanjaro Tanzania. He already asked for sample resumes and help writing a <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Fulbright" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Fulbright</span></a> application. He seems ambitious and eager to access opportunities for growth. I’m excited to get to know him and support his journey.</p>
Mara<p>I got matched with a new <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/YALI" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>YALI</span></a> mentee from <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Tanzania" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Tanzania</span></a> today- so excited to meet them and support their leadership journey. YALI was started in 2010 by Barack <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Obama" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Obama</span></a> to educate and <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/network" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>network</span></a> young leaders in <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Africa" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Africa</span></a>. They have an amazing alumni network on <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/LinkedIn" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LinkedIn</span></a> which is how I have connected with many of my <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Global" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Global</span></a> partners. Great way to have an <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/impact" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>impact</span></a> through <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/mentoring" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>mentoring</span></a></p>
Mara<p><a href="https://mindly.social/tags/YALI" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>YALI</span></a> is seeking mentors for their next cohort. This is a great program started by the Obama administration that cultivates both entrepreneurial and civic leaders. When asked how I connect with my project partners I always refer to the YALI program and Alumni Network. This is a highly rewarding and impactful opportunity to mentor.</p>
