@mj1982 Ich kann nicht nachvollziehen, warum man sich die Dummheit anderer Menschen in Dauerschleife geben muss. Aus einem vergleichbaren Grund schaue ich auch kein lineares Fernsehen und erst recht kein Privat-Fernsehen mehr. Von #meta nutze ich lediglich noch #whatsapp und auch das nur, weil einige Kontakte einfach nicht auf einen anderen Messenger wechseln wollen. Ich brauche auch X nicht, um zu wissen, dass da draußen ne Menge Vollidioten und Arschlöcher frei herum laufen ...

Can someone explain whatsapp's security situation to me, or point me at an article that does so?

I have heard that it uses Signal's encryption, but I have also heard that it's not secure and Meta gets all your info. What's going on here? Are your chats encrypted but then also sent to meta or something? Does meta have all your metadata but not the contents of the chats? Something else?
