The calculated soil moisture ranking percentile map shows intensely dry conditions in the Central and Southern Plains, and parts of Florida, Delmarva Peninsula, Louisiana and Montana.
The calculated anomaly puts driest conditions in the Southern Plains.
Notice how wet California is. Florida has quite a contrast between the dry area and the wet area around Fort Lauderdale that has been inundated with rain in recent days.

The calculated soil moisture ranking percentile shows soil in the 1% ranking in the Central and Southern Plains and in the Northwest.
The calculated soil moisture anomaly (mm) indicates the largest anomalies in the Central and Southern Plains and also in the Midwest.
