T 🍉<p>Hello. It is I, the sandwich person.</p><p>Do love me a nice grilled sandwich, but always using toast or white breads for it gets old after a while. So I shaped some of my weekly rye sandwich breads in the shape of the grill.</p><p>And omg, what a treat this is! Crispy, tasty, fiber rich and delicious. This is also in many ways very Finnish.</p><p>In it there is tomato, cheese, oregano, black pepper &amp; garlic. I have waited all year to make this next recipe from Stanley Ginsberg's "The Rye Baker": a South Tyrolean Christmas Zelten, or a Zelten di Natale. It's related to a panettone and fruitcake, but it's not as heavy as the latter. it's chock full of spices &amp; rum- and wine-soaked dried fruits and nuts, like raisins, figs, walnuts, and pine nuts. Dr_Bombay<p>Update! Here’s the final result of the Polish Milk Rye bread. I will probably slice into one tomorrow for lunch. Aside from planning the timing for the sponge 12 hours in advance of making the dough, this was a super easy recipe, and as a bonus you get two loaves for your effort.
