Kevin C 🎬<p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AllStarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AllStarTrek</span></a> At least that kid has a happy ending. We know that cuz he never showed up in a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a> episode, otherwise he'd be killed for drama and pathos. 👍<br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrekTNG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrekTNG</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/FutureImperfect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FutureImperfect</span></a></p>
Jyoti Mishra<p>I just shed a little tear because I am going to miss <a href="https://mas.to/tags/STProdigy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>STProdigy</span></a>. There were some truly great bits of Trek in there and I like that it kept the original utopian Roddenberrian vision going. </p><p>I'd rate it below <a href="https://mas.to/tags/StrangeNewWorlds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StrangeNewWorlds</span></a> but slightly above <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Discovery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Discovery</span></a> and way, way, waaaaay above <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Picard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Picard</span></a> in terms of <a href="https://mas.to/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/FullyAutomatedLuxuryQueerSpaceCommunism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FullyAutomatedLuxuryQueerSpaceCommunism</span></a></p>
Kevin C 🎬<p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AllStarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AllStarTrek</span></a> I could watch a whole <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a> mini-series of Federation archeologists searching for evidence of the lost Voth civilization on Earth, buried during the asteroid blast that ended the Cretaceous period.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrekVoyager" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrekVoyager</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/DistantOrigin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DistantOrigin</span></a></p>

Most <a href="https://mas.to/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a> has been as good as the 90s even if the seasons are pathetically short. (For real... 20 episodes a year would still avoid Chabon's "filler" nonsense.)</p><p>You definitely can skip that terrible hyper-emo fanfic you're watching right now...you won't miss anything relevant to <a href="https://mas.to/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a>. LeRoy Miller<p>Today I learned: Not all <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/nuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nuTrek</span></a> is bad, I'm actually quite enjoying Star Trek Prodigy, I don't want any <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/spoilers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spoilers</span></a> but did they figure out the mystery behind the <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/ProtoStar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProtoStar</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/Prodigy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Prodigy</span></a></p>

Kevin C 🎬<p>I think I've finally figured out what annoys me about <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a> - it feels unbelievably safe! </p><p>The effects are fantastic and all, but I don't think one of these episodes has challenged any part of my worldview at all, and that seems kinda sad. I can see why, they're spending a boatload of cash on so few episodes that they can't afford to alienate anyone.<br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AllStarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AllStarTrek</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NewTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NewTrek</span></a></p>
Kevin C 🎬<p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AllStarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AllStarTrek</span></a> See, if this was <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a> (or <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrekEnterprise" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrekEnterprise</span></a> S4), they'd drag this story out over 3 episodes, but because this is 60's <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrekTOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrekTOS</span></a> we can be assured that this McCoy plot will end by this episode's finale, along with a silly joke and a smile.👍</p>
Kevin C 🎬<p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a> kinda has it's work cut out for it since it's basically in competition with 100s of quality episodes of <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> from 20 years ago, that don't require you to come back next week, or spend 10 hours, to get "the full" story.🤔</p>
Kevin C 🎬<p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AllStarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AllStarTrek</span></a> I don't like to compare old (or whatever the heck <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrekEnterprise" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrekEnterprise</span></a> is, 00s Trek?) to <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuTrek</span></a>, but Enterprise's episodes <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Afflication" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Afflication</span></a> and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Divergence" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Divergence</span></a> handled Klingon morphological changes WAY better than whatever that was that <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrekDiscovery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrekDiscovery</span></a> was doing (although I did enjoy that Timekeeper Krampus look👍).<br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a></p>
Frank<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mindly.social/@durmak" class="u-url mention">@<span>durmak</span></a></span> a friend of mine calls it “competence porn” and I think it’s what’s missing from much of <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/NuTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>NuTrek</span></a>.
