Ryan is a nonbinary person seeking a Gender Recognition Certificate based on a plain reading of the Gender Recognition Act's "foreign route".

Please write to the Supreme Court to ask that their permission to appeal be granted.

In February, the UK Court of Appeals ruled against them, failing to address many of their barristers arguments in the ruling. In fact, the ruling just deferred to the lower court without much analysis.

To add insult to injury, the ruling stated this should be left to parliament. Parliaments "debate" on nonbinary legal recognition, after a petition signed by over 140,000 Britons, included no representation from actual nonbinary people, and was mainly spent on expressing bigotry regarding transgender women.

They are very distressed by their situation. All of their identity documents list their sex as "X" or "nonbinary". By a plain reading of the Gender Recognition Act, gender defined by foreign law is not limited to female/male. Kemi Badenoch countered their by having anti-transgender activists make outlandish claims about the problems that would be caused by giving anyone legal recognition as nonbinary.

Ryan has medially transitioned and their appearance is now so androgynous that they regularly have people spontaneously refer to them in gender neutral terms. Even doctors have been unsure of their birth sex. Pretending to be either binary sex makes them viscerally uncomfortable.

A Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) would give them legal protection against their birth sex being disclosed. Crucially, a GRC listing their sex as nonbinary would not implicitly disclose their birth sex as a GRC listing a different binary sex would.

Thanks,
[Title First Last]
[Address]
[City]
[Postcode]
