Gained a new understanding of one of my neighbors. He looks to be around 50, is always cordial but never warm, and I think I learned why today.
We were both in the gym, at 12:00 on a Sunday, and he was taking work calls during his workout.

There were thousands of people there. And I met some neighbors, who were walking to the protest as I was leaving my house, and stopped to introduce themselves.

Someone left a bag of books outside our little free library. In the rain. A little Little Free Library etiquette: if there isn’t room *in* the library for your bag of books, consider perhaps bringing *a few* of them back when the library has some shelf space, rather than leave your cubic foot of books to get soaked in the rain

I didn't find the artist with a reverse image search, one website says this is the issue from June 17 1978 but another website has a photo of a woman on that issue. Maybe an alternate or a back cover or something idk. I give up 
To me this really shows off what can be done if you know how to paint, I really love the colors, the lights, the city and stars in the background. I don't feel any menace from this UFO, live long and prosper

Some of my neighbors bring me citrus and herbs they grow in their yards. I'm now able to return the favor since I started growing dill, cilantro, sage, rosemary. I might even have some figs, ginger and tomatoes to share. This sort of thing that makes a neighborhood better.
If you live in an apartment building and you have one of the following hobbies
- playing the piano or any woodwind, percussion or brass instrument,
- dances that require rhythmic foot stomping,
- carpentry and woodworking, or
- moving furniture for funsies,
please know that your neighbors hate you very much.

Someone posted in a neighborhood mailing list about a bag of cat food they were looking to pass on (their cats are fine, just decided they don't like that food anymore).
I offered to take it over to the rescue I volunteer with.
Turns out, they live in my building, have 3 gorgeous kitties, we exchanged contact info and now I have a new friend!
If the neighbor below you is stomping around like such a woolly mammoth your whole apartment is shaking and booming, what's it like for the people living below them? 
Why are some people like that? I want to see a study on how these people walk with their lead-ass feet.

I have a neighbour who's ... a proto-Karen, I guess? She was almost certainly a challenge to those around her many years before that term was popularized, anyway.
She complains bitterly about the jackrabbit poop when the snow melts. I told her once that it was good fertilizer for the lawn underneath, and she yelled back at me "NO IT ISN'T!"
