As #MeisterEckhart put it, “what happens to another, whether it be a joy or a sorrow, happens to me.” Today’s #science fully endorses that statement of #interdependence, insofar as interdependence is seen as a “law” or habit of the universe. It’s how things work and hold together. https://dailymeditationswithmatthewfox.org/2025/03/27/the-4-paths-as-spiritual-practices-for-hard-times/
Ok! Really insightful, perceptive, and loving look into asking for help. I don't have brain to parse it well right now, but SO many lines I wanted to just stop and quote (drop your quotes in the replies.

A friend recently wrote this post and I wanted to share:
" “Pace yourself”, people say, “it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon."
But the truth is, it’s a relay. You do your best, for as long as your energy holds, and then pass the baton to someone with fresh energy. And go rest and regroup, reflect and recover until you’re called upon again.
Pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion may train runners but it’s a bad strategy for activists and volunteers, for creatives, for caregivers and coworkers.
Interdependence doesn’t get enough credit in our competitive, egocentric culture. But if we take turns making a difference, the cause keeps moving forward."

#ThomasMerton: "The whole idea of #compassion is based on a keen awareness of the #interdependence of all these living things...all part of one another & all involved in one another. The study’s findings do resonate with the #Buddhist principle of #interdependence, that memory is not isolated to the brain but arises from shared cellular mechanisms. This mirrors the #Buddhist teaching that all phenomena, including karma & “rebirth,” arise from #interconnected processes rather than isolated causes. (4/6)
Governments are underestimating or ignoring the links between five key areas - biodiversity, water, food, health and climate change.
This "siloed" approach has unintended consequences.
#Interdependence is not about losing yourself in the collective; it is about finding yourself in #BelovedCommunity.

"If one were to sum up #Buddha's teaching in one word, we would have to say that it is about universal #interdependence, of which #nonviolence is a natural consequence.
Since we are all dependent on one another and all other beings want to be happy and not suffer, just as I do, my personal happiness and suffering are intimately related to that of others." (1/2)

I look around my house, and I am surrounded by things - a spoon, a counter top, a fridge, a carton of OJ, linoleum tile, a light bulb - that I could not make for myself.
I am totally dependent on work done by others, long ago, and more recently. I am totally immersed in human-made stuff that I wouldn't last ten minutes without.
