The Greenening just got some shiny new effects!
The cloud trail, dust particles and watering effect are subtle enough to not be distracting, but make the game feel much more alive, I think.

Playing some Galencia from Protovision for the C64, running under Frodo emulator on the GP2X handheld.

A while back I played a more combat-oriented take on the girlvania genre at a local queer games show. The game, Lady Dracula, is a modern PC game that mimics the style and challenge of the early linear Castlevanias, and it's now up for wishlisting on Steam!

Made the shadow outline effect subtler and fixed the artifacts on unlit surfaces, looks pretty production-ready now (by my solo dev indie standards )

Guess I'll leave it for now, let it settle in my brains, and see if I like it long-term or not.

Added some basic collision avoidance so that villagers don't get stuck trying to go through each other. Triggered only when they actually collide, doesn't work for large crowds & sometimes makes them spin a bit, but it's enough for now :)
