@stairjoke thanks for this. I hadn't checked #Codeberg out so assumed it was a company - now I see it is an EU non profit I'm in.
Have registered and will join as a paying member shortly.
We should focus on what distinguishes Codeberg and more will join.
@ClaudiaTranslates I’m happy to see #Codeberg there with a grade A. Seems like I made the right choice for my software hosting.
Migration follow-up. In the end, I did automate it. #Codeberg #Woodpecker #XMLCalabash
Someone please help me understand.
Why are there still so many people and orgs that fiercely advocate #foss & #freesoftware still publishing on GitHub?
I’m new to the scene but know there are much better alternatives like #codeberg #forgejo (I self host this) #gitlab
Aren’t all the reasons for leaving the Microsoft ecosystem not applied?
Or are there some inherent dependencies to proprietary services that’ve projects locked in?
Would love to hear from folks with more insights.
Yo, #Codeberg, I can't set GIF avatars anymore?
@zkat congratulations! Love #codeberg myself.
As tombstone you might consider adding a #GiveUpGithub section to it, like I did when migrating awesome-humane-tech.

Give up #Github tombstone text: https://github.com/humanetech-community/awesome-humane-tech?tab=readme-ov-file#give-up-github
Taller sobre Git y Codeberg
I think #codeberg is safe again, their issue tracker also gets spammed and the crap from last night has been cleaned up.
SSS (The Supreme Sexp System) proudly announces version v3.1.11 of the project.
https://codeberg.org/jjba23/sss
big shoutout to @abcdw who helped improve the dev experience and tests of the project, #hacking on it is now a delight (with #guile #arei #ares on #emacs ).
system is much more modular now, organized, user overrides are easy, and there is a #wip #gruvbox theme support (many more too), added rotating wallpapers
Finally moving my projects over to @Codeberg nice and straightforward migration tool. Just looks like some README pages need image links and "other page" links fixing up. Task for the weekend...

Feels good, I jumped ship from GitHub to codeberg for version control of my game. Now I just need to remember to do regular pushes!
I’d like to wish those spamming #Codeberg a very unpleasant launching into the Sun.
Looks like #Codeberg was under another #LLM-fueled #spam attack. Funny enough, all (or a portion) of the bots had stared the #Sneedacity mirror that was there, but when I discussed it over Matrix, the bots removed their star.
Eventually we'll find out who this person is...
Hey, listen. #Codeberg is being spammed with LLM bots right now. They started like an hour ago. Each bot is opening up one issue in a random tracker every minute.
I have no idea what the spread is, but each individual bot has like seven pages full of issues now. PieFed and FEP are both starting to see issues piling up because of this.

I've slowly started moving away from #GitHub and to #Codeberg for all of my projects.
https://osm.governorkeagan.com/ is the first one. I've got a couple of others that I may need to convert to using vanilla HTML/CSS/JS (as opposed to a framework). It would be nice if sites like Netlify worked with Codeberg but we can't have everything.
