The View from Out There<p>This picture was taken April 14, 1970 out of a window on Apollo 13's LM. The accident had already happened and the craft was completing its swing around the Moon before heading back to Earth, so the Lunar Module was already in use as a lifeboat. We can tell that the image is from the camera intended for surface operations due to the fiduciary markings (the plus-shaped reticules), but the crew presumably realized it was not going to be used for its intended purpose anyway.
